Our words, actions, and attitudes have the power to transform lives for the better. They can bring healing to people, communities, and even nations. Our lives should be guided by Jesus’ golden rule, ” Do unto others what you would have them do unto you” (Matthew 7:12).
As John Wesley said, we should work hard to “Do all the good you can, by all the means you can, to all the people you can, as long as you can”. So how do we do this? It seems an impossible task. Well, we don’t do it alone. The burden does not rest on our shoulders. That’s why God sent us His Helper, the Holy Spirit.
“He gave us a good bath, and we came out of it new people, washed inside and out by the Holy Spirit. Our Savior Jesus poured out new life so generously. God’s gift has restored our relationship with Him and given us back our lives” (Titus 3:5-7, The Message).
We don’t achieve much impact on our own. But when we have the humility to kneel before the Almighty, He gives us all the power we need to change our world for the better. And where do we begin? Always with those closest to us.
May you have a blessed February,
Pastor John
