“Different But the Same” – Pastor’s Pen – August, 2025

In some ways Jesus and John the Baptist were so different. John with his wild look and crazy diet, appeared to be an outsider. Jesus grew up like a regular guy with a steady job. Yet they were the best of friends and 100 percent rooted in the same hope.

Neither of them acted the way they did because they wanted to impress people or win affirmation. They did it because they were true to their calling, true to their character, and true to each other. Above all, they had learned to put their hope in God alone.

“Since you are my rock and my fortress, for the sake of your name, lead and guide me” Psalm 31:3

So today, let’s live like John the Baptist and Jesus, knowing where our home always is and rooted in God’s love.  This is how to be empowered, to live fully, and to live kindly: always staying close to the source. This is key to life.

Rich Blessings in Christ,
Pastor John
