The Bible speaks a lot about walking with God, always pointing us toward how to follow Him better, faithfully day by day. There are some key traits to such intimacy. First and last is always humility, the courage to bow your head and ask for His presence. He never stays away when we do this. He will always walk beside us when we ask. That part is a gift. Your sins are forgiven, and you are bathed in love and light as His child. Soak it in.
But day by day, what traits can we recognize as hallmarks of walking close to God? We’re told to “act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God” (Micah 6:8). That covers a lot of ground. And we all fall so short.
Both Enoch and Noah “Walked Faithfully with God” (Genesis 5:24, 6:9). They didn’t just wait passively for something to happen. They got up and moved – not just physically, but emotionally – allowing God to direct and shape their lives. Will we be moldable clay in His hands?
God bless you in this season of life.
