Sir Winston Churchill is believed to have said, “Success is the ability to move from one failure to another without loss of enthusiasm”. When we’re pursuing a lifelong vision, it can be – and should be – hard work. We need to be diligent, persevere, and not get distracted by the many setbacks and failures we will encounter along the way.
No matter how strong or powerful we think we are, it is nothing compared to when we draw on the strength and power of Christ. This is the task of the Holy Spirit: to keep us close to Christ, to help keep us going, to keep us kind, to keep us courageous, and always driven on by love.
Whatever struggle we’re facing, whether it’s spiritual or physical, God is the ultimate source of victory, and He is on our side.
“Since you are my rock and my fortress, for the sake of your name lead and guide me”
(Psalm 31:3)
We gain incredible confidence when we lean on God. We don’t have to pretend that we have it all together or that we are successful, strong, and happy all the time. We can be much more honest than that – with ourselves, with others, and with God. Life is hard sometimes, but whatever we’re facing, His hand of love is always there to help us, regardless of our feelings. Trust Him in all things in 2024 because He is good and always has your best interests at heart.
God bless you,
Pastor John
